Osama Bin Laden is dead, obviously. I was sitting in the library looking for a reason to escape, and I guess I got it when I was frantically checking twitter and I saw the tweet from CNN. Not gonna lie, my first response was to quickly come up with a sassy facebook status and tweet about the event, as I always do with these kind of things. But then I realized that this was more significant than the world blowing up facebook with a bunch of "who dat" or "omg can I please be Kate Middleton" statuses. Not that I don't love the saints and occasionally wish that I had the life of my bff Kate, but this is a bigger issue.
See, one of our biggest problems in this country is that we aren't very good at supporting each other. When Obama was elected, people frantically said they were moving to Canada or Australia or someplace dumb. He was elected, and as Americans it was our job to stand behind him. It's all about seeing the greater good for our country. Then, our government almost shuts down because we can't practice a simple form of bipartisanship? This is not the sole fault of our elected leaders, because even on a daily basis, we don't practice bipartisanship.
So tonight when everyone is rejoicing and chanting "USA", "USA", I couldn't help to think of all the great things we could chant "USA" to on a daily basis. God has blessed every American in so many ways, and He has allowed us to be the hands and feet of making a difference in the world. Does it really take a strong mutual hatred from every American for us to see that our country is truly something to be proud of? Apparently, yes. It's fine to chant "USA" outside the White House and all, because this is a major victory for our country. But why don't we support our country this way every day? Why don't we defend America when it counts?
We criticize the citizens of other countries when they publicly celebrate the downfall or wrongdoings of our leaders, yet here we are doing the same thing. America has lost so many honorable men and women in this war to protect our national security, and we should celebrate their accomplishments every day, not just when capture and kill Osama Bin Laden.

Life Skills Needed
So, apparently taking one summer class is no excuse for not being employed. And here I thought it was. Much to my surprise, no one is looking for employees that are catchphrase-champion-e-news-in-walking-form-chelsea- handler-prodigy's. Who knew? Simply put, I have all the skills of chelsea handler/ryan seacrest/kim kardashian, minus their super successful careers. This is going to be rough. Oh, but don't worry. I am qualified to pull a drowning child out of a pool. That trumps Kim K's skill set any day.
Since my school was feeling a little generous this year, they decided to just put mardi gras and spring break together. Oh, what a great idea! Oh, False! Result: being robbed (or nabbed as my mom would say) of extra days for mardi gras and having spring break at the same time as no one but my dog (spring break is her whole life). Now, here is a list of things I have done since I have been in Gulfport:
1. (insert cricket noise here)
2. (insert picture of tumbleweed blowing through a ghost town here)
Well, that sums up all the cool things I have done. Oh yeah, I almost applied for internships at e! and the white house. Versatility at it's finest. But that would have taken a long time, and I am lazy. If I want to work somewhere I need to know they really want me with all my skills i.e. it would take chelsea or the president showing up at my door to get me a job.
Sorry I stalk myself on facebook so much. Sorry I post pictures to people's walls and comment belligerently in the process. If you read this, you know I have no life, so that's my excuse.

Oh, hello blog. I never promised you consistency, so get over it. Too many great things have happened since Thanksgiving that I couldn't even think to write about, so I almost abandoned you. False. I'm back. I took exams, went to disney world, got presented to society or whatever (nbd, really), did the whole Christmas thing, celebrated new years with some fortunate/unfortunate circumstances, and now I'm here. Lots of other minor details like my mother making up her own vocabulary and attempting to counsel eminem through the radio also happened. They won't be so minor in a little while. Also, my bffs from 4th grade are really important.
The happiest place on earth. Disney World. I am a believer in that. Nothing says happy like a bunch of skipping asians eating turkey legs bigger than their own legs. If that's not pure disney magic, then I don't know what is. Don't worry, I managed to faceplant in the Magic Kingdom parking lot. But really, It was wonderful. If you are going to go to Disney, go with your summer camp bffs. And a 7th grade social studies teacher GPS named Tammy. She is a lifesaver. Disney World without my family absolutely brought out the magic. I love them, but Disney World really isn't family friendly. It is a temper tantrum provoker. Kids see stuff, they want it. They cry. Parents don't want to let their kid cry and ruin everyone else's magic (you're at disney world, it's all about the image). Therefore, kids get whatever they want and the parents are bitter about Disney World. Actually this is probably just my family. Because I tried this little scheme too, and it worked. It was probably so humiliating for my parents because I was 16.
You now are reading a post by an official member of society. Um? Yeah, whatever that means. Debutante was semi glorious. It was beautiful, and I admitted I was a diva. Yes. That happened. One time only confession. If you were there to hear it (I have no clue who was) then congrats. My diva side was brought out when I refused to take off my fluffy white dress for a good 3 hours after the ball was over. Besides my divaliciousness, the lunar eclipse was the highlight of the night. Clearly, we love science. Not a joke at all.
Christmas. Happy Birthday Jesus. It happened, and it was beautiful.
New Years. Oh, what an adventure. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than being in New Orleans with my three best friends since 4th grade, a random redheaded midget, and sleeping on the floor next to a perfectly plush and defiled bed. False. I can think of a better way: without the redhead and the floor. Although, the Roosevelt was rather impressive. Also, I found a gay bff for a night. Lucky me, I know. But now for something really sweet:
Because I'm so lucky and am still friends with my 4th grade bffs, we had the honor of having our friend picture accompany us to bourbon street. In the glittery frame and all. It loved it. Not that this thing is for talking about sentimental things or anything, but I love my friends. It's absolutely wonderful how we can go forever without seeing each other, and pick right back up where we left. I'm truly blessed. That was pathetic.
Oh, I have a serious problem with wanting to be whatever I see in movies. Morning Glory: I change my major. The movie sucked. 500 Days of Summer: I really want to write greeting cards. Black Swan: I want a more perplexed personality. I don't want to be black swan girl, so no one call child services or anything. However, I will always want to be a Kardashian.
If you ever want a day of instant entertainment that you won't regret, teach my mom about twitter. When I was explaining how tweet and that celebrities have twitter, she asked about Brad Pitt. I told her he probably tweeted (I'm not sure, because I boycott Brangelina and their 2398239 kids) so she wanted me to tweet him and ask when he would be done adopting babies. Mom, that's Angelina's problem. Also, "nabbed" apparently means kidnapped in kathyland. "Hayley, go check on Sydney and make sure someone didn't nab her," says my mother referring to my 15 year old sister in the bathroom at a very established gas station in New Orleans. To my mothers credit, established hardly means it's true definition here. Like really, nabs are peanut butter crackers, not kidnapping. She then went on to explain that the one that does the nabbing is the nabber, and the one being nabbed is the nabbee. Like what kind of dysfunctional world do I live in? Also on this trip, I learned everything my mom would say to eminem if she ever met face to face with him in a therapy session. "Look, no one can understand you when you talk so fast. You could express your vulgar thoughts better if people knew what you were saying. We could even work through these thoughts." So, eminem, if you ever need therapy you know where to begin.
So, I have a new major. Because I thought it would be fun. All i've done is write papers. What did I do before? Write papers. I'm in a never-ending cycle here. People in this major are excessively more annoying. The only thing I really miss about history is knitting girl and her cat half tops. I have vampire girl that's obsessed with her boyfriend and ribbon girl who thinks CAYRO, Egypt is having some conflicts right now. I rightfully told her that cayro is corn syrup, and she was going to have to pronounce it Cairo before I could have a discussion with her. As long as there is conflict happening in a bottle of corn syrup, I can't take you seriously. Sorry. Also, I figured out the secret of the world today. Sisterhood of the traveling pants=pajama jeans. It's the only way the pants could fit all of them. Things I have to look forward to: my class field trip to the african american military history museum and my class trip to an indian pow wow.

Animals of the Library...
It seems the Hattiesburg Zoo and the library have gotten mixed up tonight. Actually, it doesn't seem like it. I am positive this has happened. To my left we have the dressed in boots with the fur hyenas, and yes, they are exactly as obnoxious Lion King depicts them. Ahead on the right is the parakeet exhibit, just squawking away for all the 4th floor to hear. With every zoo comes a zookeeper. Well, that's me. Once upon 20 minutes ago, I ventured into the hyena pit and calmly (my version of calm is everyone else's version of real angry) asked them to be quiet. Once upon 5 minutes ago, I asked the parakeets to shut up or leave. And now, we have a quiet library. Your welcome, residents of the 4th floor.
Thanksgiving break. It consisted of my family (by family I mostly mean the families I created in the sims), my awful puppy, and some new books. I traveled back in time a bit to the 6th grade, when I preferred to play sims over interacting with real people. I enjoyed it. It's always nice to know that you have fake computer friends and families to live vicariously through.
Oh, the animal that is living in our house. What a nightmare. She does whatever she wants, and there is nothing we can do about it. Except love her. Which we do exceptionally well.
Now these books I got over thanksgiving break are fabulous. You'll Never Blue Ball in this Town Again, by Heather McDonald is just wonderfully cynical and hilarious. My favorite qualities. I have always felt that Heather deserves more credit than my dear friend Chelsea Handler gives her, and this book gives her plenty. However, this guilty pleasure read was just a teaser for the real deal book of my break.....

Kardashian Konfidential.
Incredible. And I about cried when I saw it was a coffee table-esque book. I'm a sucker for a good coffee table book. Just when I think I couldn't want to be a part of this family anymore, they put out a book. I don't care if they are famous for just being famous, whatever they do, the Kardashians are good at it. If you can pull out your own baby, you pretty much have a free pass in life. Kardashian Konfidential has taken my obsession to a whole new level. And I love it. So mom, go adopt a kid between the ages of your other daughter and I so we can attempt to be the next Kardashians.
November 25th was Thanksgiving (just in case you didn't know). The day when we are all so thankful for those greedy brits stealing the us of a from the indians. Sounds like a monumental event to celebrate. And we did. I had a very large accomplishment at thanksgiving this year: moving up from the kids table. That's right. I officially earned my right to sit at the big table. How did I earn it? I turned 19. I always looked forward to the day I would no longer be a resident of the kids table. However, I have been tricked my entire life. I always thought the rule was if you were 14 you could move up. Then I turned 14, and still had a plate at the kids table. Then it was 16. Then I was 16, stuffing my face at, yes, the kids table. Then the rule was college. So I went to college, came home for thanksgiving, and yet again found my plate at the kids table. Then I became smart enough to realize that they were running out of kids to put at the kids table and they didn't want to get rid of the tradition. And it makes them feel younger. So family, I'm glad you could hold onto your youth while I was suffering away at the kids table.
Some highlights of Thanksgiving dinner/lunch include:
- Anna Grace playing the trumpet.
- Sharing stories of our memories at the kids table
- Anna Grace informing grandmother that she needs to invest in life alert
- Family wide facebook stalking
- My clever noticing that the saints vs. cowboys game was more importantly a match-up against Kim K's ex- lovers.
Speaking of TV, say hello to my new career. I gave up on bringing peace to the former Soviet Union, and officially became a broadcast journalism major today. So far, my future is looking bright. I'm now one step closer to becoming Chelsea Handler's bff. Or meeting the Kardashians. Either is completely possible. My inspiration for this life change came from one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen, Morning Glory. However, if you ask Stephanie Lee how she feels about this movie she will tell you it was hilarious. Then she should proceed to laugh the way she did in the movie. Then no one would talk to her. Anyways, this movie is about a girl who is a producer or something. And then I was inspired. I love TV. Probably more than anyone in the world. And I love fake stuff, which is TV. So, E! network, get ready. I'll see you in a few years. In the meantime, tell my friends Chelsea and the Kardashians that I say hello. Now I've got to go tame the library. The animals are getting rowdy.

Thanksgiving = Before Christmas
This world is very very confused. Someone needs to set it straight. I volunteer. IT IS THANKSGIVING SEASON. CHRISTMAS= AFTER NOVEMBER 25. Everyone can go put their christmas decorations and music back into creepy dark closets. We should give thanks before we ask for presents. If the next week is christmas free it would be as good as christmas. Starbucks and Just Friends are the only things that are allowed to be christmassy before thanksgiving. Why? Because a peppermint mocha frappuccino with no whip cream is good anytime. Starbucks just doesn't know that. And nothing is better than Ryan Reynolds' cynicism mixed with a girl who meows and growls. Both are winners.
Let's talk about a rather unfortunate segment of my existence: life without twitter at my fingertips. Since I'm currently the proud mother of the Motorola Dinosaur Edition (sans camera, sans inbox capacity over 50), I am lacking twitter. However, I have made some conclusions from my time away. It appears that life has slowed down on tweetable events. By tweetable events, I mean things involving cats, witches, pink barbie mustangs, levitating boy in philosophy class, and knitting girl. So thanks, world, for holding off on the finer things in life until I can one day share it with the world. I appreciate it.
Life right now goes something like this: staring at a chemistry book and realizing that everything I look at will never connect with my brain. Then I get distracted by Chelsea Handler and all of her cleverness. Then, I realize that chemistry would be pointless if I were Chelsea Handler. So I convince myself that it's okay that I don't know chemistry if I want to be the next Chelsea. Then everything is okay in life. Then 30 minutes later Chelsea Lately is over, and my fantasy quickly disappears. Then all I am left with is this chemistry book that talks about spdfnlm. Then I get sad, but I know that in an hour Chelsea will be on again, and I can repeat the process. This is my version of real life.
Sarah Palin's Alaska. Good stuff. If you let your kid get within 10 feet of fighting grizzly bears, then you are the best mom ever. Nothing else to it. And climbing the highest peak in NORTH AMERICA (Sarah emphasized North America a whole bunch) is just another day. I kinda want to be an Alaskan. Sarah Palin, you keep on being the coolest mom in NORTH AMERICA.

Dear mothers at high school football games:
My sole reason to come home: sister was cheering with the varsity cheer team for the last home game. Being the good sister that I am (and maybe wanting to relive my ghs cheerleading days), I decide to trek home for the event. Much to my discontent, all they did was do a few cheers. No fancy stunts, no tumbling. And I couldn't even see them. Yet, the GHS football game did not cease to entertain me.
High school football parents. The level of accepted obnoxiousness varies. If your kid is playing, it's okay to get excited. Really, it is. If your kid goes to high school, it's okay to clap a bit. If your kids are long gone, it really isn't okay to show your face. However, most people don't understand these rules. Most people being the people sitting in front of me on that glorious night. These women. They needed to get a life. You don't have kids in high school. Your kids graduated years ago. You graduated in '79 (they told me. I didn't ask). You didn't sit down the entire game. You knew everything there was to know about the 250+ students in the GHS band. I hope you feel accomplished, woman. I just felt annoyed. Also, don't ask me what year I graduated then look astonished that I'm not as in touch with the happenings at gulfport high as you are. I really don't care. You however clearly do. Thanks, football game attending moms (not football moms. that would imply they had a reason to be there), for showing me everything I aspire not to be.
What is time spent in gulfport without los tres amigos. I wouldn't know the answer. I had los tres for dinner last night. Tonight I'm having los tres takeout. This shows that I like to stock up on my mexican when I am home, and how I have gotten progressively lazier over the weekend. True life.
As previously mentioned, I become a carpool service when I am in town for more than 1 hour. This stands true. 2 hours of my day were spent carting kids to soccer games. They don't even play soccer. This is also true, because we went to 3 different soccer fields to find the games. Reasons why you shouldn't go to soccer games if you don't play.
Clearly, I am sitting at home on a saturday night typing my meaningless thoughts about the world. Even more clearly, I love it. Coming home and doing absolutely nothing is a wonderful life. That is, until I have to bring sister and crew a plethora of places.

If you write on the side of desks in the library, you probably have nothing to do with your life. I'm sorry.
As I sit in this dull and hellacious library, I cannot help to look at the inscriptions on this quaint little cubicle:
- "I love Daniel." "He loves someone else."
- "Live tha LifE." "Please don't."
- "laughasmuchasyoutreathe(heart)."
- "Whore." "okay baby."
My thoughts on these inscriptions:
- Daniel probably doesn't love either of you. Actually, he probably doesn't exist. If you are dumb enough to write about him in the library he isn't real.
- Clearly, you are not living any life, because you are writing on the cubicle of the library.
- laughasmuchasyoubreathe. Could be kind of cute. Except I needed to breathe the whole time I was trying to figure out what the heck that said. I can't laugh and read laughasmuchasyoubreathe at the same time.
- Pretty sure it's safe to say that this cubicle is not a "whore." Or a "baby."
Now, time for what I actually got on here to write. I got a little distracted and needed to let the cubicle writers of the world know how I feel about them.
Obviously, I am in the library. Getting in a little study time for this history test, which I have no idea what to study. But I'm here. A for effort. No interesting head injuries or New Orleans trips with mom this week. Sad. I did get to see one of my best friends look beautiful on state's homecoming court. yeahhh. Surprise starkville trip was a success. It's always wonderful to see my bestiesss from the gpt.
DDD. bid day. yesterday. ole miss. From all of my extensive facebook stalking, I say it was a success. Lots of new little dolphin babies. I miss everyone there bunches. lots of bunches. These little babies are gonna love dolphin life.
Paranormal Activity 2. Slightly frightening. $7.75 was well spent. I suppose. Movie theater people commentary was far too much to handle. I did not pay to hear your comments, woman with unfixable southern accent that was sitting behind me. I'm pretty sure no one else did either. But thanks anyways.
Zoo Boo. It's where kids trick-or-treat at an animal-less hattiesburg zoo at night. WHO WANTS TO GO TO THE ZOO WITHOUT ANIMALS? oh, just hundreds of people. Don't worry, the animal smell made it seem like little nugget prairie dogs were live and present. I must say, that zoo had the largest collection of blow up decorations known to North America. Congrats, Hattiesburg Zoo. You keep up the good work. Just in case you think blow up animals substitute for real ones here's a hint: they don't.
I'm still confused by the existence of this blog. I'm not sure if I want to bore the world with the strange ideas of my mind or just comment on how I feel about events/surroundings. Maybe a happy little combination of both. I'll ponder this for a while.
- "I love Daniel." "He loves someone else."
